Podcast: The Quick Pivot to Remote Education
Dr. Laurie Bernotsky, provost of West Chester University, and Christine Hafer, a professor in the education department at Ithaca College, discuss how their universities have coped with COVID-19 and the transition to virtual learning.
Bernotsky explains “Our president has this saying, we hear this a lot, ‘Hope is not a strategy.’ So, we had been thinking, like many other institutions of having students and faculty not return for just those two weeks after spring break, to give us some time to see how things were going to develop before making the move to these alternative instructional modalities, and quite frankly to give us time to prepare for that kind of a move.”
