In a new study titled Diverse-by-Design Charter Schools, Halley Potter and Kimberly Quick of the  Century Foundation examine 125 charter schools that have taken steps to promote racial diversity in their enrollments. The schools have a variety of education models, including international or dual-language themed and project-based. Most of the schools are in cities or suburbs, with a mean enrollment of 359, which is smaller than the average public school.

The schools provide a range of strategies that could help other schools create more diverse student populations.
