In a roundtable with higher education reporters, FutureU podcast hosts Jeff Selingo and Michael B. Horne welcome journalists from California, Michigan, and Mississippi to discuss what’s happening on the ground in three very different places in the United States.
“If you look at the numbers, there was around 26,000 students in Mississippi who got aid last year, about $45 million—two thirds of those were white. So that’s not proportionate at all to who lives in Mississippi,” said Molly Minta of Mississippi Today. “And only around 20 percent came from people or families that make less than $30,000 per year.”
