In the wake of COVID-19, many university presidents have struggled with a fluid set of circumstances outside their control. What does it take to lead in these times? “What I do believe is that communication with the various stakeholders is crucial to the success of any president but especially in a crisis. The stakeholders include the faculty, but very importantly, the students, the staff, the employees that work at the university, the donors, and very very important for college kids, the parents,” Gergen said.
