That led to a conversation about whether the nation’s most selective universities should consider expanding to admit more students.
“We only have limited resources at the top institutions, and we have many more highly qualified students than there are spaces in those elite institutions,” Levin said. “The obvious answer to relieving the pressures is to expand.”
