A panelist, James Frazee, who is the vice president and chief innovation officer of San Diego State University, stresses that building trust requires clear, consistent guidance so students don’t feel penalized by conflicting expectations across their coursework. “They can go into their 9 o’clock class and be encouraged to use AI, and they could be expelled for doing the exact same thing in their 10 o’clock class,” he highlights. “And that’s causing a great deal of anxiety and stress among our students. So, I think that element of trust is really important.”
