Michael Horn and Jeff Selingo talk with consultant Terrell Dunn about the changing value of a college degree. Dunn notes survey finding showing older high school students and young adults believe colleges should have better job guarantees following graduation. In a shift from prior generations, today’s young people increasingly wonder whether college is worth the short-term investment as they weigh competing priorities in their lives.
Terrell Dunn: “I really view this as a problem that institutions have. This isn’t a problem that these potential students have. They need to do a better job both explaining their value, why you should make this investment of time and money and what we’re going to give you or what you’re going to get out of this at the end of the day.”
