WEBINAR: Nebraska Growing Readers: Increasing Book Access and Early Literacy Behaviors

Nebraska Growing Readers, a statewide family literacy initiative, showed positive impacts on book access, reading habits, and early literacy skills among young children, according to a 2024 pilot evaluation. Funded with a $2 million Nebraska Department of Education commitment, the program distributed over 886,000 books to nearly 38,000 children ages three to five and provided statewide training on interactive, intergenerational literacy activities. Hosted by the Campaign for Grade Level Reading, this session will share strategies used to engage families, support caregivers, and build early literacy skills across Nebraska.
