WEBINAR: K–12 Civic Education on the Eve of America’s 250th Anniversary

Hosted by the American Enterprise Institute, this webinar brings together researchers and practitioners to examine the state of civic education in K–12 schools ahead of America’s semiquincentennial. The discussion will explore what effective civics instruction looks like today, highlight promising models of civic education, and address concerns about students’ limited knowledge of U.S. history and government. Moderated by Robert Pondiscio, the event will also feature remarks from James Traub on his book The Cradle of Citizenship, followed by a broader conversation on how schools can better prepare students for democratic citizenship.
