Webinar: AEI’s New Database on University Giving

Hosted by the American Enterprise Institute, this event marks the launch of the AEI Searchable Open University Records of Charitable Expenditures (AEI SOURCE), a free, AI-enhanced database designed to untangle millions of complex tax filings regarding private philanthropy in higher education. The creator, Tao Tan, will explain how this open database tracks 1.1 million foundation grants made to American colleges and universities since 2008. The session will demonstrate how researchers, university leaders, and the public can use the tool to ground highly emotional debates over private campus funding in solid evidence.
