(Update: We have filled this position. Thank you to all the nearly 400 applicants who sought to join our team. We appreciate your interest in the work we do to support a better education for disadvantaged students.)
FutureEd, an independent think tank at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy that works to improve the nation’s educational systems for underserved student populations, is seeking a full-time policy associate.
We’re a growing organization that works at the intersection of research, policy, practice, and politics and we’re looking for a talented, hard-working team member to help us in several areas: research on a range of K-12 and higher education topics, writing (we place a premium on writing for public audiences and frequently publish in national magazines and newspapers), editing, website development and search engine optimization (our site is an active publishing platform), communications (including social media), and organizational outreach.
The position is an opportunity to work with some of the nation’s leading education policy analysts and writers, to learn a wide range of skills in an entrepreneurial non-profit environment, and to make a difference in the educational lives of the nation’s disadvantaged students.
Candidates need a bachelor’s degree, a demonstrated ability to write to a high standard, the flexibility to work on an entrepreneurial team, and, preferably, experience in or knowledge of the education sector. The position includes Georgetown University’s generous benefits package.
